I knew it was Dr Boehm...love all the vets there, but she's just the best. When she sat down on the floor with Scooter one day and kissed him on the mouth knowing what parts of their anatomy our fur people lick, well how could you not fall in love with her. She's even called me at home on week-ends and after hours just to follow up when one of the kids are sick. Scratch and hug given...we just came back from our walk, had treats and they're sacked out for the afternoon...ah, life is good when you're a 4 legged human in this household.

Thanks for posting Joe. Keep us posted on Lola, okay?

Thanks so much, Lorraine! How great to hear from you. You and the rest of the girls at the Center have always made me feel so welcome and part of the family. And yes, I remember too well that brutal day when I clipped little Cabo's ear. I was a wreck and I'll always appreciate how comforting you were to me. Needless to say, I leave that stuff to the groomers now.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks again for the comment. We're lucky to have you, Dr. Boehme and the rest of the staff at the DC.

Oh, and yeah--I'm a crazy music dude. :)

Linda, thanks so much for your comment. I love connecting with people who relate to their dogs as deeply as I do. When we take our furry little spirits into our homes, we know that we've signed on for a pulverizing heartache down the road, but they give us so much, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Enjoy your weekend and give your little ones a scratch for me, willya?

Thanks again.

Joe,
You have always been one of my favorite clients. I remember how badly you felt when you cut Cabo trying to get that matt out from behind her ear. Whatever happens with your little girl, always know how much joy she has brought you, & what a great Dad you have been to her.
Oh, and we have to talk next time you come in; never knew you were such a crazy music dude!

I'm weepy reading both of your stories. We have 2 fur people that we adore..they're a huge part of our lives and the smallest one, Muffy, sleeps with us. She had her 15th birthday last month and she's in good health but slowing down. She can't see as well as she used to or hear as well, but she still has attitude. She still instigates play time with our younger dog and goes on daily walks. I lost my Mother 2 years ago and though I grieved and still miss her, I totally understand that you would be so emotional about your Bear. Our dogs are with us every day...in my case, I work at home so they're with me 24/7. They are so devoted to me...both of them are under my desk right now. And you're so right, they love us unconditionally. Truly man...and woman's best friend. I'm keeping Lola and Bear in my thoughts and sending both of you prayers for the strength to get through this tough time. Mine is probably coming before too long...then again, our little girl just might surprise us. One can hope.

I'm at home with my 11 year old Golden Retriever "Bear", who is in the final stages of Lymphoma. He went blind suddenly. I first noticed something was wrong on a hike January 2nd. Since then, there has been no good news from my vet (whom I adore) except that Lymphoma is not painful. I'm enjoying every minute I have with him. These guys are such a part of our family. My boyfriend couldn't help but notice how much more emotional I've been about this, than learning of my mothers death. What that says about me, I don't know... What I do know is that every day these four legged creatures that live with me in my home bring me joy and love without condition.
I'm glad that your beautiful Lola is doing well. You certainly don't sound like a ranting Lunatic:)
